Solar for Schools International Community Member

Many schools around the world are solar power stations engaging in sustainability education through their buildings.

United Kingdom

So far, we've worked with over 200 UK schools, getting solar on their roofs and managing their systems for them. However, there are nearly 25,000 schools across the UK and it's our mission to reach as many of these as possible.

Funding for UK schools

The Solar for Schools Community Benefit Society is a non-profit community that funds solar panels on schools. Funded schools receive the Solar for Schools education programme ('Candle') for free as part of their included 25-year Asset Management package.

Schools with roof space for a minimum of 30kWp of solar can be funded by the CBS. Smaller schools will be considered in clusters.

Germany

We've been represented in Germany since 2015, and since then we've worked across 50 different municipalities, covering feasibility studies through to project build, management, maintenance and monitoring.

India

We started working with schools in India in 2017 and have one school and one college there, both in Chennai, totalling 461kWp. We have an expansion pipeline of 100kWp in development.

Our registered office is in Chennai, and we have a large team presence across India with 12 of our project development, design and IT team members based in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharashtra.

Colombia

We have so far installed on two schools in Colombia - both in Bogata - together combining to around 350kWp of solar.
